# Desktop troubleshooting

> Common Overlay Desktop setup and runtime issues.

## Authentication

* Confirm the Overlay Server URL is reachable (`APP_SERVER_URL` or hosted default).
* Complete browser sign-in; ensure `overlay://` callbacks reach this app.
* After server-side session revocation, sign in again.

## Keychain

* Deny Keychain access → auth/API keys will not persist.
* After Keychain reset or new Mac, sign in again and re-enter user-owned keys.

## Permissions

* Grant Microphone / Accessibility / Automation / Files in System Settings as needed.
* Relaunch Overlay after TCC changes.

## Native helpers / models

* Confirm Apple Silicon.
* Official builds include pinned arm64 helpers; stripped copies will fail.
* From-source packages need a successful native artifact layout.
